My Favorite Pregnancy Apps
When I was pregnant the first time around in 2012, many people had smart phones but I was not one of them. Although, thinking back, it might have been “smart” for the time.
But the apps were limited and the memory was practically non existent. I checked baby center with my computer every week rather than my phone. And I took pictures with my camera and uploaded them manually.
This makes me sound old. I was only 23 at the time but as a young married couple with a baby on the way we weren’t exactly well off.
Now, luckily I have a phone that does more than call and can literally have any app I can dream of at my fingertips. But, I don’t. As minimalist as I am with my things, I try to have the same courtesy with my phone but because it’s so easy I probably downloaded about 15 apps to see which one I liked best.
I wish I could say I narrowed it down to only one but unfortunately I haven’t. I kept 3… but for good reason.
3 Best Apps for Pregnancy
1. Baby Center:
If your going to have one, I’d suggest this one. I love the community more than anything but the tools are great too. I especially love the bumpie feature that lets you take a picture each week and add graphics saying how big the baby is. I didn’t do each week but I have done one for each month and I love it. The is it safe part of the app is also super cool.
I had baby center on my computer in my first pregnancy and on my phone in my second and this one so I’m part of the birth club for all of them. I still get updates for my older kids too.
2. What to Expect:
This is another community that I love being a part of. I like the organization of the weeks better in this app but to me it seems like the community is less active and the app only supports babies until 3 rather than what must be forever. I have a seven year old and still get updates for her.
I like the daily read and how it sorts topics but it doesn’t have the fun features baby center’s app has.
3. Pregnancy
It’s literally called pregnancy. It had two little white feet on a green background. I love love love the little calendar it makes for you so you know exactly where you are in the timeline. It’s also super easy to track everything, like weight, symptoms, kicks and doctor appointments. It doesn’t have a community but the info on each week is interesting and fun. Not much different than the other two in that regard.
