That Heap of Clothes in the Closet

Having two girls so far is both a blessing and a curse.

Two girls mean not spending money on things we already have. No redecorating the nursery. And a little thing called hand me downs.

As far as clothes go, in the four years of Ellie’s life I have bought a total of 4 shirts, 3 pants, 2 dresses, 2 pajamas, 2 swim suits, and a handful of socks and underwear.

Emily only slightly wins this because I have two nieces pretty close in age to my girls and many of her things were hand me downs as well.

But just because I haven’t bought her many clothes, doesn’t mean she doesn’t have quite a few outfits and things Emily never wore. People love buying baby/toddler clothes so Ellie has both new clothes and Emily’s hand me downs.

But it’s still too much.

We’ve gotten rid of some much already but the drawers are still stuffed. When you pull out one shirt, eight more come with it.

And unless I’m in the room while they are getting dressed, those clothes that fly out land on the floor and do not go back in the drawer. And then they eventually end up in the hamper. Where they are washed, dried, folded and put away again even though they were never worn.

Lather. Rinse. Repeat.

But I am doneeee.

A new year means out with the old and no more new pleasee

So I did what every type A mom would do: I made a list. And then a fun graphic because #YesIAmThatMom

After take a step back and admire what an amazing mom you are and then take a nap and feel bad about letting your kids have screen time #momguilt am I right?

But maybe I can keep myself from yelling about clothes on the floor. That should count for something.
